Welcome to the third instalment of the Topple Academy Monthly Newsletter!
October has flown by with an overwhelmingly positive end to it! This half-term has been majorly fun and successful and if you’re interested in some of what we got up to then please read below!
Domino Workshop Recap
A fantastic turnout to EVERY event this week! The workshops at Rushden Lakes booked up fast and the drop-ins worked brilliantly, some people staying for 2 hours at both events! I am overwhelmed with the pleasure that building brings to you all :)
You can see some of my favourite photos from the events in the header of this post! Alongside this the collages are also live on the workshops tab of the website.
A video will be uploaded (all socials inc. YouTube) that will have the topples we managed to catch on camera compiled together so we can all hear the satisfying sound! If you attended a workshop and have a video you’d like to be featured then please send it my way!
Upcoming Events!
With Christmas creeping upon us… November means that Xmas workshops will be popping up! Some bits are yet to be finalised for November but as of now I can announce that I will be attending the Corby Christmas Fayre on Saturday November 21st! There will be dominoes on sale of course and also a small area of demonstration. However, please note that this is not a workshop – but a great way to get some Christmas gifting done! You can see the poster below.
School & Corporate Events:
I am officially able to take bookings for anybody requesting school workshops or corporate team building from February onwards. If you are interested, or would like to subtly slide us in the direction of your employer… then please reach out!
I have been working on flyers and case studies to make pitching easier for us on both ends to give an idea of Topple Academy which can be sent over if requested!
In Other Domino News:
It’s always fun to talk about previous projects of mine and this month I would like to share a big one from 2025!
In January a group of us were invited to work on an advert for Telstra, an Australian telecommunications company, which consisted of 20,000 dominoes! The project was a play on forced perspective which made the project look as though it was built in different rooms, however the entire domino project was laid across the floor and strategically hung glass panes were put in position for the illusion. A very fun project to work on, please see this news article for some videos and further info!
Any Other Business:
As I get into the groove of writing this Newsletter I am always looking to extend my list of names on here! If you’re not already on the list and would like to be added as a subscriber to this newsletter (only once per month!) then please message via Facebook/Instagram/Email with your permission to be subscribed!
(Please do not comment your email publicly on any social platform!)
Please remember to always tag me @toppleacademy or mention Topple Academy in your domino creations and highlights for me to see! The info@toppleacademy.com hashtags inbox is always open for submissions of domino projects!
Keep on building!
-Ricardo :)
