September Recap!
Welcome to the second instalment of the Topple Academy Monthly Newsletter! September has flown by with a handful of workshops at Corby Library and Scribble Studio! Although major preparation has been underway for Halloween Half-Term which is announced later in this blog!
Domino Workshops Recap:
The Summer Reading Challenge has come to an end at Library Plus locations across the county! To celebrate all of the children who took part and completed the challenge we run a handful of sessions at Corby Library, located inside Corby Cube! The sessions were a success with new ALL new builders who managed some great topples with whole families working together on towers!
Please note that there are no photos from this session due to photograph permission on the day, but you can see all galleries on the website under ‘Previous Workshops’.
Upcoming Events!
October means half-term which means Halloween which means spooky workshops!
This year’s October half-term is jam-packed with domino workshops across Northamptonshire, with all of the drop-in sessions being FREE! You can see a full schedule below:
Monday 26th – Daventry Museum 10am-2pm (Drop-In)
Tuesday 27th – Rushden Lakes 10am-1pm (Book here)
Wednesday 28th – Rushden Lakes 10am-1pm (Book here)
Thursday 29th – Far Cotton REC Centre 1pm-3pm (Drop-In)
Domino Masterclasses are also making a gradual return throughout the year, with the next session happening on Monday the 19th of October, from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. These sessions are currently priced at £8 per child, with adults attending for free! Evening sessions this Autumn and Winter will help to keep you out of the incoming colder weather!
I am also looking to trial the idea of ‘couple’s workshops’, similar to how pottery classes and partner painting sessions run. Potentially a fun activity to bring to date night where you can be in touch with your creative side together! The session would be ages 17+, and booked in couples. If there is interest, please let me know via message or email!
In Other Domino News:
If you actively look at the hashtags in my posts you’ll spot #H5DominoCommunity very often… and this is because it is probably the best way to share domino content online!
The #H5DominoCommunity tag was started by Hevesh5 many years ago and is a consistent stream of domino content across several social media platforms. There is a YouTube channel under the same name which recently published “The Summer Domino Screenlink” which was a community involved project where everybody could send in submissions to be a part of the full video! You can see it here!
I am almost underway of organising a way to subscribe to these newsletters. It is still a W.I.P however if you’d like to be added to the email list please let me know via message on Facebook/Instagram/Email with your permission to be subscribed to the monthly update! (Please do not comment your email publicly on any social platform!)
Please remember to always tag me @toppleacademy or mention Topple Academy in your domino creations and highlights for me to see! You can also email me any domino bits and bobs you’d like to share at info@toppleacademy.com
Keep on building!
